‘International School’ for ASEAN 2015

Kajonkiet group is recently preparing their major program to respond greater demand for English-language education by establishing its first international school this month. Further manager of Kajonkietsuksa School and Chairman of the Phuket Private School Association, Permkiat Ketkul told the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plan to kick out restriction of crossing border travel while it will unify economic sector in 2015.

Then it becomes a primary factor to open its Kajonkiet International School Phuket (KISP) while it plans to build on a 45-rai hillside land in Kathu. The school demanded to fulfill the international island plan when this country signed an agreement with Thailand and their fellow member countries like Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. According to the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) plan, on upcoming 2015 they will hold free-flow goods, services, investment, capital, and skilled labor among the 10 countries.

After ASEAN countries are able to move freely within the region, Phuket will become home of new workers and their families, said Mr Permkiat. It awake Phuket education to aware about their two important responsibilities. First, the schools urge to prepare about the increase of new students. Second, they demanded to prepare their students for English language as a global language. Kajonkietsuksa School itself establishing a n International Program at Kajonkiet International School Phuket (KISP) this month for the AEC. The international school will serve any grade program under British National Curriculum for pre-nursery kids to Year 6.

Now it offers various educational branches in form of its Thai, ESC (Thai and English), and English Programs. Expat residents usually following English Program with Thai curriculum using English instruction. Each program aims for unique purpose, said Mr Permkiat. “KISP will be there to help the children prepare for changing economic profile in the world,” said him. Kajonkietsuksa School was built in 1954 for further educational growth under national policy. Then English language being a necessity, this school open its English Program in 1999. “We will offer a preparation course for all students joining KISP. It will ease transition into a new program and new curriculum,” said him. The preparation course will be on Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, runs from May 23 to July 22.
