Cable-cutting incidence toward local cables is increase over these months. Concerning about these incidence, Atsadakorn Sidokbuap, KPP Cable TV and Kampanat Thantiwat, manager director of PA Business Phuket proposed formal request for Phuket Electricity Authority (PEA) sabotage to PEA chief Somchai Krueapat on Tuesday. Mr Kampanat said he was proposing it to represent all of cable TV providers in Phuket.
It is urged PEA to investigate thoroughly their transmission line to look for the unauthorized cable to end it. The cable companies stated their services have been constantly disturbed by cutting and unplugging cables. Then unknown fiber-optical and coaxial wires found at the towers where their wires are cut, said Mr. Kampanat. In the other side he convinces their competitors were being the key.
On April there were three incidents had reported among his consortium members, said Mr. Kampanat. The cable TV wires were cut, and damaged at towers near Tesco Lotus and Makro, including 3BB cables along early April, he added. After he surveying the newest incident in the end of April in Koh Kaew, they found evidence like one severe cables, a pair of wire cutter. Even they claim to identify the suspect at the scene. The temporary suspect worked by a major national telecommunications provider, denied the accusation, said Mr Kampanat.
However based on PEA request, police had made report, added him. Now PEA investigation is still in process and Mr. Kampanat expects to hear preliminary discovery this week. Another local cable company, Phuket Cable, told the Gazette if their technicians also reported about the same disturbance. Two incidents reported on March like the cable cuttings around Sakdidet Road in Wichit and one incident is in Chalong, Land and House Park. Instead of reported it to the authority, the wires were repaired by the company. Miss Auttira, an administrator at Phuket Cable, said she was not realized about any incidents on April.
