This morning Conservation Center empowers five rubber boats with safety equipment to help flood victim while they will transfer goods and passengers to the safe place. Four of the vessels come from Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) Region 5 in Phuket.
Cholamark Boat Company in Chalong provided the fifth boat as it being provider of dinghies and marine safety equipment in Phuket for 20 years. This company has assisted flood victim before in Haad Yai. Mr Hans Peter Martin, the owner of Cholamark said his company will prepare more boats if requested.
The first four boats can accommodate up to fifteen people while the fifth can carry up to thirty. Paiboon Upatising, president of DMCR Conservation Center in Phuket said other provincial had ready to help victims in flood areas. However the exact location had not yet announced since many areas needed them. Phuket hydrologists said massive floodwater which killed 253 people will forward to the south through central plains this week while it will reach Bangkok around October 16-18.
