Phuket provincial health office will hold AIDS Fair to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14th. It is aiming to educate Phuket people about this endangered disease. Phuket is currently holding the highest rank province for the amount of AIDS sufferer throughout Thailand, said Dr Sak Tanchaikul, PPHO chief.
Dr Sak said this statement on press conference on Wednesday (1/2) while he added if PPHO shows 7,415 AIDS sufferers in Phuket on December 31, 2011. These huge numbers is including 99 killed people due to AIDS infection and 69 new sufferers have been listed. It is why AIDS is becoming a fatal material to kick out. PPHO hopes much to reduce AIDS patients this year as it is creating the AIDS Fair plan. The valentine celebration is being an important session to hold AIDS Fair in the auditorium of Phuket Rajabhat University from 10 AM to 3 PM. It will display educational exhibitions and performances. There will be a debate on 3 PM to 6 PM while a charity concert will be on 6 PM to 11 PM.
However, the actual figure of those infected is possibly much higher. The PPHO hopes to reduce the number of people infected with AIDS this year, and part of their plan is educatiing the population through events such as the AIDS Fair. The February 14 event will be held in the auditorium of Phuket Rajabhat University from 10am to 3pm, with educational exhibitions and performances. From 3pm to 6pm there will be a debate on various love topics, while a charity concert will be held from 6pm to 11pm, with Thai singers Bew Kalayani and Jeab Benjaporn performing.
