Fire has hit a construction equipment store in Cherng Talay this morning as it brought about 10 million baht loss, said Phuket Police. At 6 AM Cherng Talay Police informed the fire accident at Cherng Talay Ruam Wassadu store nearby police station on Srisoonthorn Road. Soon 10 fire trucks and 40 officers coming from Cherng Talay Municipality, Patong Municipality, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Phuket (DDPM-Phuket), and the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (OrBorJor).
A water truck from Laguna Phuket resort also helped the extinguish effort. The effort stumbled by power cables in front of the building while firefighters should break wall on the upper floor to douse the fire. The key helper was Iveco Bronto Skylift cherry picker that operated by DDPM Phuket. The fire fight took about 30 minutes while the flames were finally extinguished at 9:30 AM. Related with the burner, police suspected an electrical short which was fuelled by volatile chemicals like paint thinner. One firefighter hurt on his hand while there are no other injured reported.
