Krabi Mayor Proposed International School for Krabi

Waiting for ministers’ meeting in Phuket on March 19-20, Krabi Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports is proposing ‘Andaman International School’ project. The department planned to move 30 million baht fund to build an international school in Krabi.

The committee then will consider on which projects from Ranong, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Phang Nga provinces will be presented to the Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra Cabiner for approval. Krabi Town Mayor Kiratisak Phukaoluan told the Phuket Gazette his will to raise the education standard of south Thailand to be equal with schools in Bangkok. “Students in Krabi should be ready for Asean Economic Community as well students at Andaman region,” said him. “Children in Andaman Region should have international standardized education institution,” added him.

The school would firstly open primary level class as it will be built in Tambon Krabi Yai in Krabi Muang district. The school then registered to cooperate with Krabi Yai Municipality, said Mayor Kiratisak. “This is a bilingual school with English and Thai languages. It will provide Prathom 1-6 classes. At the first year the school would only provide Prathom 1 and 2 classes,” he added. The school costs 30mn baht to build two four-storey buildings, concrete road, drainage system, field, 318-meters fence, entrance, exit gates and others.
