Phuket Medical Staff Helped Ayutthaya Flood Victims

Phuket medical staff joined flood aid efforts in crashed Ayutthaya province. This first Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) from the Phuket Public Health Office (PPHO) led by Dr Weerasak Lorthongkham reached the flood zone on October 5th. They are in charge for 10 days, said PPHO deputy director Dr Wiwat Seetamanotch.

Southern Phuket being Medical Tourism Hub

Development and promotion of southern Thailand were being the topic of an international conference last week at Royal Phuket City Hotel. IMT-GT (Indonesia- Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) cooperative officials participated in “IMT-GT Medical Tourism” meeting that led by Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports Permanent Secretary Sombat Kurupan on December 15th.

Phuket Launched Dengue Control

Phuket City Municipality had designed four temples in their effort to prevent the spread of dengue fever. Phuket Town Mayor Somjai Suwansupapana told MCOT news agency had been confirmed 693 cases of dengue in this city. Monsoon season, flooding and clogged drains created many stagnant pools where mosquitoes as its disease source multiplied, she said. [...]
